The UNO R3 (ATmega328P). It has the most tutorials written for it, the pin header matches almost every shield, and it survives wiring mistakes better than the smaller boards. Move to the Nano when you need the same chip in a smaller footprint, or the Mega 2560 when you run out of pins.
No. Everything on this page works on a solderless breadboard with jumper wires. Soldering only becomes necessary when you want a build to be permanent.
Both are listed. Each product page states whether a board is an original Arduino or an Arduino-compatible clone - they run the same sketches from the Arduino IDE. The compatible boards cost considerably less, which is why most classroom sets use them.
Yes. Tell us the class size and what the students need to build and we will put together a parts list and a quotation. We supply UAE schools and university departments and can invoice against an LPO.
At minimum a USB cable to program it, a breadboard and jumper wires. Most projects then add sensors, a display and a power supply - all listed further down this page.
Tell us what you are building and we will put together a parts list and a quote, usually within 24 hours. Class sets and bulk orders are quoted against an LPO.
