The board integrates battery holders, charging input, and multiple power outputs so you can prototype quickly without building a separate battery pack and regulator stage.

Technical Details

The shield is built around a dual-cell battery holder footprint and onboard power management circuitry. Two 18650 cells are installed in the holders (observe polarity markings on the PCB). The module provides two labeled regulated rails: a 5V output (marked up to 3A) and a 3V output (marked up to 1A). These ratings reflect the board’s intended capability; actual continuous current can vary by module revision, thermal conditions, battery internal resistance, and the quality of the cells used. For high-current loads, ensure adequate ventilation, short/thick wiring, and verify voltage stability under load.

A Micro USB port is provided for power input/charging. The board also includes a USB-A port typically connected to the 5V rail for powering external devices. Because Li‑ion cells can deliver high current, correct installation and basic battery safety are essential: use matched cells of the same type/capacity/age, avoid mixing old and new cells, and do not use damaged cells. If your project is sensitive to noise or brownouts (common with WiFi transmit bursts on ESP32/ESP8266), add local decoupling near the load and validate peak current behavior.
