Robotics in the UAE

A chassis with motors and wheels, a motor driver board, a microcontroller (an Arduino UNO or an ESP32), a power source, and one sensor to react to - usually an ultrasonic distance sensor or a line-following module. The driver board matters: a microcontroller pin cannot drive a motor directly.

No. An Arduino pin supplies a few tens of milliamps; a small DC motor draws hundreds. Wiring one directly damages the pin, and the back-EMF when the motor stops can take the whole board with it. An L298N or DRV8833 sits between them and takes the current from a separate supply.

A servo for precise angles over a limited range - steering, an arm joint, a pan-tilt head. A DC gear motor for continuous drive, like wheels. A stepper when you need exact position and repeatable steps, such as a small CNC or camera slider.

Almost always. Running motors from the same USB supply as the board is the most common cause of a robot that resets mid-turn - the motors pull the voltage down and the microcontroller reboots. A separate battery pack for the motor driver fixes it.
