The QD003 AI Vision Expansion Pack adds real machine vision to the QD001. At its heart is a Kendryte K210 AI module – a dual-core RISC-V chip with a neural-network accelerator – with its own camera and a small colour LCD, mounted on a servo pan-tilt head so the car can look around. Recognition runs on the module itself: nothing is sent to the cloud and no internet is needed.
The pan-tilt mount bolts to the top plate of the QD001 and the module talks to the ESP32 Max over a serial cable; the ESP32 does the driving while the K210 does the seeing. Assembly uses the screwdriver and standoffs from the QD001 kit. ACEBOTT's AI course walks through each recognition mode in ACECode blocks and Arduino, and is pitched at ages 12+.
