Four Mecanum wheels, each on its own gear motor, let the car drive forward, sideways, diagonally and spin on the spot – the same drive system used on warehouse and competition robots. It is the base platform for ACEBOTT's whole expansion range: one car, and a different robot each time you bolt on a pack.
Three routes, in order of difficulty: ACECode, ACEBOTT's Scratch-style block editor that runs in a browser; the Arduino IDE with ACEBOTT's libraries and example sketches; and Python. The kit comes with 16 story-based lessons that take a beginner from blinking an LED through motor control, sensors and wireless control, plus a downloadable textbook and teaching slides for classroom use.
Assembly is a proper build – acrylic chassis plates, motor brackets, standoffs and screws – with the screwdriver and cross wrench included. Allow an afternoon for a first build; the assembly video walks through every step. No soldering: all modules plug into the car shield with the Dupont cables supplied.
