Description

Requires the ACEBOTT QD001 ESP32 Smart Car (sold separately). This pack contains the expansion parts only – no car, controller board or batteries.

The QD004 Tank Expansion Pack converts the QD001 from a Mecanum-wheel car into a tracked robot. Two rubber crawler tracks run on sprockets and road wheels bolted to the existing chassis and driven by the existing motors – so the swap is mechanical only, and the car's programs keep working.

What it adds

Grip and stability on surfaces where the Mecanum rollers slip: carpet, tiles with grout lines, sand, grass and ramps.
A heavier payload platform – the tank base is the usual choice under the QD007 Robot Arm or the QD002 Camera.
A different control lesson: differential (skid) steering instead of omnidirectional driving, which is how real tracked vehicles turn.
The Mecanum wheels come off in minutes and go back on just as quickly, so one car can be either.

How it fits

The side plates mount to the QD001 chassis with the standoffs supplied, the sprockets go on the motor shafts in place of the wheels, and the tracks tension over the road wheels. It uses the screwdriver and cross wrench from the QD001 kit and takes about 20 minutes with the assembly video.
