Description

Requires the ACEBOTT QD001 ESP32 Smart Car (sold separately). This pack contains the expansion parts only – no car, controller board or batteries.

The QD002 Camera Expansion Pack turns the QD001 into a mobile camera platform. An ESP32-CAM board with an OV2640 camera mounts on the front of the car and streams live video over Wi-Fi, so the driver sees what the car sees – on a phone in the ACEBOTT app, or in any browser on the same network.

What it adds

Live video from the car's point of view, with the picture and driving controls on one screen.
First-person driving – steer the Mecanum wheels from the video feed, out of sight of the car.
Photo capture and simple image projects: snapshots, time-lapse, basic motion detection in Arduino.
A second ESP32 on the car, which also means a second set of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios for projects that need them.

How it fits

The camera board bolts to the front plate of the QD001 with the bracket and standoffs in the pack and plugs into the car shield; no soldering. It is a few minutes' work with the screwdriver from the QD001 kit. ACEBOTT's tutorial covers the assembly, the firmware and the app pairing, in ACECode blocks and Arduino.

Pairs well with

The QD004 Tank pack (camera on tracks, as in the second photo) and the QD005 Water Ball Launcher for aimed shooting from the video feed.
