The QD008 Solar Energy Expansion Pack puts a solar panel on the roof of the QD001 and a charging module between the panel and the car's 18650 cells, so the car recharges itself whenever it is in the sun. It is as much a science kit as a car accessory: the ESP32 can read the panel's voltage and current, log how much energy it harvests, and make driving decisions based on the battery state.
The panel mounts on a bracket above the top plate, leaving room underneath for the QD002 Camera (second photo); the charging module fixes to the chassis and wires to the battery holder with the cables supplied. About 20 minutes with the QD001's screwdriver.
